Mercy's 5K Stroke Awareness Run2017 5K Runners

Mercy Medical Center's 6th annual 5K Stroke Awareness Run

630 participants laced up their sneakers on Saturday, May 6th, for Mercy's 5K Stroke Awareness Run. Beautiful weather and a fun-filled day was enjoyed by race-goers and their families at Mercy's Family Festival following the race.  All proceeds raised at this year's race ($17,576.00) benefit Mercy's Stroke Program.

Stroke survivor, Dennis Koplin, was the crowning jewel of the post-race awards ceremony with his amazing story of survival shared by his family, who have been in attendance of every Stroke Run since it's beginning in 2012. With the addition of new age divisions, numerous winners graced the stage after this year's race (see list of race winners to the right).

Pearl Family Dentistry took home the award for the Larget Team with 68 members, while team Rehab Strong's T-Rex and viking helmet themed attire landed them the award for Best Team Costume. Le Grand Zumba received honors for the Best Team Selfie.

Thank you again to all those who donated and came out to support this great cause!
